Give Basco a chew toy of any kind and stand back and be amused for hours on end. He loves to toss them and then go pounce and chew for a bit then toss again. He also loves to relax and chew on Nylabones. Basco is short for Tabasco, due to his coloring and personality. His DOB is about January 2003, he weighs 48 lbs. and is a bi-eyed. We are not completely sure of his breed but his personality and appearance suggest a possible Siberian, Canaan mix. Basco does do some herding activity, nips at your ankles and is initially shy and skittish upon first meet, but after a day or two, he settles in and bonds really quickly to people. You have a devoted friend for life. Basco does know sit and listens well when corrected. He now does ok in a crate, providing you are in the same room with him. He does know how to bust out of a crate easily but has also proved himself trustworthy while out and about the house. He has never challenged the 6 foot privacy fence at his foster home - either by jumping or digging. He loves a ride in the car and walks great on a leash. He is house trained as well. Basco does run and play with some of his foster siblings but mostly hangs back and does his own thing. His foster Mom thinks he prefers human attention to doggie play. He has had some disagreements with male siblings so may do best in a home with a female canine companion or by himself. He is wonderful with kids and will safely cuddle up with cats. Basco is very sweet and deserves a home where he will be loved and make up for the rough 2 or so years he’s lived through already. His previous owners allowed him to run free all the time and their neighbors shot him and they decided not to seek medical attention for him. We tried to get him into our program then but his owners would not relinquish him. Three months later, they moved and left Basco behind to fend for himself. We are thankful he’s in our program and we look forward to finding the perfect home that he can call his own. Why not put a little spice in your life and put in your application for Basco today.
