He is a big boy, around 100lbs, so will maybe be better with larger kids.
He is a bit older, but her change into a puppy when he sees a tennis ball, he just LOVES them, but you will have to supervise him with toys, as he likes them so much, he eats them.
He was an owner surrender as the owners moved to the Bahamas and could not take him with, some rescue found him in the shelter, then there was some misunderstanding between the rescue and shelter and for some reason he got stuck at some horrible boarding kennel for 5 months with limited exercise and also limited contact to people.
This is where the Boerboel rescue heard of him, and we took him out into a foster home with 6 other dogs, where he did really good with a younger puppy, and with some carefully introduction, he also get along with the foster Chow mix dog.
He then went into a house where the woman was fostering him to adopt, however the woman had to go to the hospital and could not take care of him any longer.
Thats how he ended up with us.
I have a 2 year old Boerboel that is still very much a puppy, a very big puppy as she is bigger then him.
He tolerates her, and if she is too much for him, he will either get up and walk away, or he will snarl at her. It took my girl a while to figure it out, but she does give him hes space now, and its going very good with these two.
He walks well on a leash, but do pull a bit if he gets a good snif, I think with some guidance he will learn really quickly, I also think that he will be a perfect dog for tracking, as he has a pretty good nose on him.
He is extremely friendly to people, we have had a few friends over, and he has shown no fear or no aggression towards anybody, he does sometimes demands a good scratch thou ;)
I took him to Petsmart to get his nails trim, and he absolutely loved the shop, hes tail was wagging non stop, he wanted to say hi to everyone, and even said hi to a puppy miniature Dachshund.
