December was pulled from Granville county along with a younger dog believed to be her daughter. Despite a horrible parasite infestation, she was immediately loving and sweet toward all who came into contact with her. Now that those pesky bugs are gone, she is blossoming quickly into a happy, active hound. She loves other dogs; when she sees them, her tail wags all over the place. We would love for her to go to a home that has the time and energy to exercise her frequently, and ideally another dog or two to keep her company. She has not yet jumped her foster mom's fence, but she's shown signs of being able, so she will need a very securely fenced yard to play in under supervision or an owner who will keep her active on a leash. 

December has demonstrated for her foster family that she used to be a bird dog, so a home without pet birds is necessary (unless you want to be reminded frequently where your bird is kept). Because of this, we also think that she will likely react the same way toward cats and other small animals. She has not been tested around children at this point, but she is clumsy and strong, so older kids will likely do better with her.
