Meet Wes! Wes is a sweet and fun little guy waiting for his forever home. If snuggling on the couch and taking breaks to zoom around the yard or do a trick or two sounds like fun, then Wes is your man!

An ideal day for Wes would be to wake up on his dog bed in the room with his people in the morning. If they're not awake yet, that's OK... he'll just wait quietly on his bed for someone to rouse, quietly checking on them every now and then (gotta make sure those lazy humans are still breathing!). After waking up, if that human invites him onto the bed he will gladly hop up for some cuddles! He loves to wallow around in blankets! After that, a trip outside to potty, stretch his legs, and sniff, and then breakfast! He's a good little eater. He'd love to spend time with a human during the day (He's so well-behaved he's even accompanied his foster mom to work!), but if he has to be home alone that's OK too... he does need to get his beauty sleep to maintain his adorable appearance after all. Wes also likes to show off his happy dance when his humans come home! For the rest of the day he'd love trips outside to explore or go for a walk, a few games of tug of war, some time to enjoy a chew treat, and maybe some time learning a new trick. Wes is very smart, food motivated, and likes to train! In his foster home he's working on the basics using positive reinforcement and a clicker so he can do even more fun things with his forever family. He would love to go to training classes with his family to help him gain confidence and learn some news things, plus he needs to show off what a smart cookie he is! True to his breeds, Wes is a bright boy who thrives with mental stimulation. After a busy day and a good dinner (did we mention he loves food?), Wes would love to cuddle up with his people on the couch and watch TV. When it's time to retire to the bedroom, Wes goes right to his bed to settle in for the night, and dream about all of the adventures he'll have tomorrow!

Wes has a lot of personality in his little body, so much so that he would do best as an only dog with plenty of room to shine. He can tolerate the company of larger dogs that respect his space, but he tends to feel the need to monitor the activity of other dogs at all times, which leaves him tired and subdued. He doesn't want to interact with other dogs, but he is very watchful, and it can be a big burden to work that much! He would much rather be watching his humans go about their daily activities than having to keep tabs on another dog. He also prefers to have his space when he needs it and a relatively quiet home, so homes with children are too much for this little guy. Wes is crate trained and will even go to hang out in there on his own at times; to him a crate is a comfy little den! In fact, Wes has been able to accompany his foster mom to work on occassion and he has been a perfect gentleman, hanging out in his crate quietly while she worked and stealing hearts. He has also been groomed and was a very good boy, letting the groomer do anything she wanted. Wes is potty trained, but prefers to be accompanied outside. He needs a kind and confident human to show him he does not need to be worried. Wes was orginially a stray, so he is all too familiar with how perilous the outdoors can be, but he is willing to explore the whole world if he has someone by his side!
