Greta and her friend Delilah were rescued from a puppy mill bust in South Carolina where they were used for breeding for the bulk of their young lives. Greta was frozen in fear when intially brought to her foster home, and she is taking her time in coming out of her shell. After two weeks, she is finally allowing her foster parents to make eye contact with her and pet her lightly, but she is still very much afraid and isolates herself to corners. She is very sweet, but she will need a LOT of patience and TLC in order to feel comfortable around people.

Greta is heartworm positive, so she will remain in foster care until her treatment is complete, which will also allow her more time to start developing trust in humans. We are accepting applications to pre-approve for adoption during this time.
