Chops is a big boy, and everything he does is big, from playing to tail wagging to his giant slobbery kisses (which he is not stingy about, by the way!). Chops is believed to be a Rhodesian Ridgeback or Mastiff male mix, approximately 1-2 years old and approximately 95 pounds. He is current on vaccinations, HW negative and on flea/tick prevention and will be neutered prior to being rehomed. He was found wandering in a gravel parking lot by a river in Durham, where he had apparently been set off by his previous owner and left to fend for himself. Luckily for Chops, he was picked up and given a place to crash for the time being. We think Chops has been a chained, outdoor dog his entire life, and his foster parents are working on teaching him basic commands but have not yet endeavored housetraining (so far, though, the garage seems pretty clean and dry...). Because of his assumed age or lack of a childhood, he still acts like a puppy and needs a patient parent who is used to puppy energy and chewing and general rambunctiousness! Due to his size, Chops would do best with larger dogs and needs a home without cats. He would also best be placed in a home with children over the age of twelve.
