Runa is a timid little gal of about 1 year of age (10/14/2010). Her name means 'secret'. Runa and her brother Itzal were found in a ditch at the side of a road.

She is timid of new people, but once she knows a person she loves to be next to them on the couch and go outside for romps and play time. She has gone on some walks around the local parks and once she gets going she is all about the walkin'! She definitely wants to be social - but is still rather timid of new people. She seems more comfortable around children 8+. She is gaining confidence every day in her foster home.

Due to her timid nature she will not be adopted to families with children under 8 yrs of age. She needs a calm environment to continue to gain confidence and understand that many people can be great snugglers.

She is crate-trained, leash-trained and house-trained in her foster home.  She has started obedience training and does "sit" and "down" with a small treat. She loves to carry large soft-toys around on our daily walks - even the toys that are as big as she is - she romps along for quite some time pleased as punch! She has a funny roo-roo bark when she gets excited or thinks there is something everyone should be aware of. She is quite the bubbly little character once she is comfortable in her home environment.

She also thinks that there is a prince in one of the toads out in the yard 'cause she continues to keep kissing each and every one that she finds - resulting in a rather cute foam mustache and beard!

She really loves other dogs and would love to have an older brother to be her best pal! And if you were interested in two dogs - her and her brother Itzal, have bonded rather well. She is good with cats and lives with one that is rather active.

She like her brother Itzal has hip-displasia, she has recently had the surgery to improve on this issue. She will not be a jogging partner, but will still love to go on walks.

She's been spayed, dewormed, up to date with age appropriate vaccinations, and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.
