Thunder was found running through the road near Hanes Mall. Many cars almost hit him, but one good Samaritan stopped and loaded him into their car to safety. Efforts were made to reunite Thunder with his family, but no one came forward looking for him. Currently, Thunder is about 30 pounds underweight weighing in at only 34lbs. Even with his extreme emaciation, he is nothing but love. Thunder is very gentle on leash and with other dogs. Stay tuned for updates as Thunder continues to heal from his time on the streets, and becomes a healthy and thriving pup again!

 Thunder has been recuperating for about a week now. Daily he shows more and more of his personality. The first few days he was definitely soaking up all the sleep, food, water, and comfort he could. Today is the first time he didn't get exhausted with just a simple walk to go potty. He actually showed a little pep in his step and a little hop and trot back to the house! He LOVES love, and he LOVES his foster boy who's 10 years old. I could totally see him cuddled up and being someone's best bud. He is cautious in new places and surroundings, ears high perked on his head, but once he's shown reassurance he's just a little lover boy.

 He has shown some interest in toys over the last couple of days, not too much but I can see he has a silly playful side once he gets more energy. He is very gentle with his mouth and teeth being oh so careful to play with anything. Speaking of teeth, He has no food aggression at all, he's just thrilled that he's being fed and wiggles his Lil butt and tail to show his appreciation.

Oh my gosh we had to share! Its been 8 days of solid food and water and Thunder is up to 42.8lbs! We are beyond excited he's doing so well!

Thunder had an exciting foster vacation last week while his foster family was on vacation. Had SO much fun making more dogs friends! He's up to 49lbs now, looking better and better every day! His personality is Staffy forward now that his energy is returning! If you know anything about Staffordshire terriers you know what I mean; a happy bundle of energy, loves to run around and play with his doggy friends, but also a snuggle buddy sweety pie that will give you the sweetest kisses, wants snuggles and chest scratches. He has the most expressive face with a head he's trying to grow into.

We're working on some basic commands and manners daily he knows sit. He is eager to please (sometimes too eager). Little training sessions daily show he's trying to learn!

***Thanks to generous donations from the community, Thunders adoption fee is only $100. He comes up to date on vaccinations, neutered, microchipped, and with a clean bill of health!***
