This cuddle boy was rescued from a neglect situation and is now very happy to have interactions with people and other dogs. We were sad to learn that Hershey is permanently blind, but this doesn't seem to be an issue for him at all. He walks confidently on a leash, with his nose working over-time and twitching like a bunny rabbit's. The medical professionals that have examined him are so surprised by his resiliency, as well as his easy-going disposition.
Hershey is playful with people and other dogs. He does well with children that are gentle and not overly rambunctious. He is a super quick learner, already mastering "step up," "step down," "easy," and "leash" within a week of being in a foster home. Like many blind pups, he quickly develops a mental map of his surroundings and maneuvers them quite well.
Hershey would enjoy having a "seeing eye dog" of his own. He always wants to play with other dogs and is super friendly to them and people.
Hershey's hair aound his eyes and ears is growing back quickly, thanks to regular meals and healthy food. Be prepared to have your heart stolen by this shinny-coated fun-loving pup!
