If you're looking for a dog to make you feel like you are her entire world, this is your dog. She will greet you at the door with enthusiastic hops, a great big smile, and happy whimpers. You wanna go for a walk? Great idea! You wanna sit on the couch? She'd love to! Her life goal is to make you happy. Felicia likes meeting strangers and animals on walks. She's good with my porch cat. Untested with an indoor cat. But, this dog doesn't have an aggressive bone in her body. So, I can't imagine it would be a problem. She is fine with another dog in the house, but doesn't need one. She definitely jockeys for full attention, which might upset other dogs. Good with kids. She is getting better at stairs. Going up is ok. But, her long body causes her to fall when trying to go down. She just needs to be reminded to go slowly. Porch steps in/out of the house are fine. But, full flights are tough for her when she's racing to stay with her person. She has a sweet playful nature, but doesn't understand toys. Maybe eventually. Felicia came from a backyard breeder that had turned into more of a hoarding situation. Her life consisted of a concrete slab outside. Somehow she has maintained an amazing personality. Potty training is going shockingly well. We are boasting zero accidents. But, that could be due to vigilant walks. We have trusted her loose in the house while we are out a couple of times. She did not have any accidents, but was very upset and frantic looking for us. She does not currently love the crate, but has learned to go in quietly at night and does a lot better in there when you leave her alone in the house. As for the potty training, dogs can only be as good as their humans give them the opportunity to be. She's pretty quiet and would probably be fine in an apartment. She can be whiny in the crate, but that has improved a lot. Doesn't seem to be a barker. *She came with the name "Felicia". I'm not sure if she recognizes it or just responds because I spoke to her. Fairly certain you could change it without issue, if it's not your favorite. ************************************************************************ The adoption fee is $400, which covers vetting, microchip and the spay/neuter surgery performed by a rescue-affiliated vet.
