From Wink: You might be asking how did I get myself into this situation? Well, that’s a good question. One day I was fending for myself, the next I was at the vet for a few days, then this lady put me in a car and took me to a place called “home.” All I know is, I have all my favorite things — friends, food, toys, snacks, and snuggles!

Wink is about 5 years old, in good overall heath, heartworm negative, scheduled to be neutered, and 100% goodest boy! 

Here’s what we know about his eye: he was brought into an emergency vet as a stray with apparent bite wounds. His eye could not be saved, so was removed. Honestly, he is none the wiser. His biggest gripe was wearing the cone. 

As for his personality, happy-go-lucky doesn’t even begin to describe him. He is one of the easiest fosters I have ever had. He has never met a stranger, dog or human! He loves having a doggy friend, but would probably do well solo in a home with lots of human companionship. He LOVES his toys and chews and can entertain himself for hours. He also loves to just snuggle on the couch. 

He gets excited when meeting new friends and can be jumpy, so he will need to continue socialization. He is not mouthy or nippy, the way small breed dogs can be. He loves kids! He has not been tested with cats or large dogs, though he has not shown any interest in either when they are in his line of sight. He has excellent table manners and takes treats with the gentlest nibble.

He’s more reliable than your favorite meteorologist at predicting stormy weather! All he asks in return is to be snuggled when it’s storming. He is convinced that the leash is a torture device, so lots more practice and a fenced yard is needed. House training is new, but he’s a natural. He just needs time to learn your routine.
