Maxwell is the sweetest boy that is looking for a home where he can have fun and thrive! He was an owner surrender from Lee County that was shutting down in the shelter, and being overlooked as a result. Once in foster care with the rescue, his personality has absolutely flourished. He loves chasing balls and frisbees and running around and wrestling with his foster family's dogs, but also is happiest laying close to his humans. He enjoys snuggling with his young human foster siblings, especially when they give him treats (he takes them so gently). Max is a wonderful size at about 40lbs, and he's all ears! He sleeps well at night on a dog bed (although he would rather be spooning with his humans on their bed) and is working on crate training. He did well with outdoor barn cats, but was playful with an indoor cat, so resident cats should be used to goofy dogs . Having been abandoned by his person, Max has some anxiety and needs to be reassured that he will never again be without a family. His foster home absolutely adores him.
His previous owner describes him as knowing how to sit, enjoys fetch, and is afraid of storms and fireworks. He loves car rides, playing with his family, and is highly food motivated. Max knows how to walk well on a leash.
