Porter, was found as a stray in Wake County, NC.  He was heavily matted.  After spending a long day with his foster mom patiently getting his matts out and cleaning him up, he doesn't want to leave her side.  When she takes him out to potty, he has an odd habit of preferring the sidewalk or pavement to the grass.  If he doesn't have to go, he just sits down by or on his foster mom's feet.  He's not interested in exploring yet and finds a spot near mom, spins in a few circles and lays down cuddled up against her or on her.

Porter reacts with barking out of fear when startled by another dog, a car passing by, a random person existing in the world, or some invisible object only he can see.  He finds comfort in being pressed up to his foster mom, sometimes burying his head in her armpit or on her shoulder.  Having a blanket around him helps as well.

Porter is cautious or friendly towards new people currently.
