Holly is a great good sized dog. She was found delivering puppies in a barn on Christmas night. She gratefully joined our program to raise her puppies in a warm and comfortable foster home. Now that her work is done, she's ready to start her forever life!

I'm her foster and I think Holly has high potential to be a once in a lifetime dog. She's an absolutely shadow and sticks to me like glue without being annoying. She trusts me and will go where I go, even when it is scary.

Holly is young, about two years old. It's clear she's not had a lot of training or expectations set so she doesn't know a lot of the basics like sit and wait or stop. She has a stunning natural recall and a high (I mean high) food drive. This dog will work for treats. I have no doubt that with time and patience she can and will learn all things she needs to know to be successful with you.

She's been super respectful of boundaries and has not attempted any escapes that include knocking over gates, chewing doors, or other destructive determined behaviors. She hasn't even gone for the bag of food sitting just out of her reach. She rides in the car in her crate beautifully and comes along for walks with minimal coaxing.

Holly does have stranger danger and will bark and act a little concerned with new people. Interestingly, the behavior is much less outside of the house than inside (ie she did amazing at the vet and met all sorts of new people - no barking). It does pass quickly and is manageable with treats, but you need to be prepared to work with her on her confidence.

She's not a great fit for young children. She's awkward and there is a high potential she could knock over a little one just being herself.

I love this dog. I see nothing but high potential for an amazing lifetime companion and friend.
