Meet Lake! Lake was found as a stray and appears to be 6-12 months old. We are not sure where he came from but it looks like he was mistreated. His tail is clipped and his one ear appears to have been harmed and healed without proper attention. Lake is a very sweet boy who loves people! He has high energy and barks when he meets people, but the foster is finding that he is a very smart boy who responds well to direction. He can "sit" when asked and does so when waiting for his meals (he is very food motivated which will help with training), and he LOVES to play fetch and can drop the toy once he brings it back. He appears to be mostly house trained and sleeps through the night without needing a potty break. He is such a snuggle bug! When his foster cooks or works on other tasks, Lake likes to sit near her feet or lean against her to give her a hug. He seems to be doing okay with his crate when left there for a couple hours at a time through the day. Lake would benefit from being with a family who has lots of time to spend getting out his puppy energy and helping him learn good dog manners like walking well on a leash. We have not seen how he is around children or other dogs, but his high energy and barking seems to scare cats away. He doesn't appear to have had much health care yet, so will need to be neutered. He will likely have his rabies shot before being adopted.
