Sadie and her 8 puppies came from a hoarding situation in SC where there were too many dogs wandering about. Initially she was afraid as she had not had much human interaction. Fortunately, she is young and learned quickly that her people aren’t so scary. Sadie now seeks affection from those she knows and is interested in getting to know new people as well. She has made huge progress in a very short period of time and continues to make more each day!

Sadie is a big fan of belly rubs and pets and has begun giving kisses to show her appreciation. She is learning how to play; which is fun to see. Squeaker toys speak to her and she will perk up with interest. Stuffies with squeakers are the cats meow and she will snatch them from you and keep avid watch over them. She is showing a little interest in ‘chasing’ a ball but is still learning how the game works. Most recently, she began playing tug of war. Sadie enjoys hot dogs, what dog doesnt, and waits her turn for treats. She’s quick to learn and play by the household rules.

Sadie is a low key dog, kind of ho-hum if you will. Morning being the exception to that as she often gets the zoomies and has been guilty of leaping furniture in a single bound! Otherwise she follows you wherever you go and plops down. She is quiet, even when the resident dogs start barking. She prefers to be in your company but is fine if left by herself. She is gentle with everything, toys included, and has yet to be destructive in any way. Sadie is good with dogs that aren’t too hyper and would enjoy having a playmate. She is good with cats as well, watchful, but does get excited when they jump on things. (Perhaps she’s mistaking them for a squirrel.) Sadie’s new home will need a fenced in yard, as her instinct may be to roam or dart off if startled. She will come with a gps collar as back up.. just in case! She prefers to use the potty outside and will give you a little whine if she needs to go. She does great walking on a leash and enjoys her mile long jaunts to the park.  Sadie is still learning about life in a home so many things are new for her. With a little kindness and encouragement she will conquer any fears that present themselves along the way. Everyday she becomes more confident! In a nutshell, this girl is smart and has so much potential to be an amazing dog.

Sadie will be a great addition to any family who's lifestyle is on the calmer side and will allow her the time needed to recognize she is welcome there.
