The Lady in Red, aka Renee, comes to us from the Pickens County, SC puppy mill bust and in the past 5 months has come a LONG way -- she is ready to be a real family member.

  • Renee walks very well on a leash and if she gets tired, she will just lay down.  Despite her youth, she is not one to tug or pull.  She wants to be near people.
  • She is most used to women, but will warm up to men over time.
  • She loves laying at your feet as you work or at the foot of the bed.  This girl **loves** to lay on your bed and needs an adopter who will embrace that
  • Renee likes other dogs and loves to play.  However, she bonds quickly to humans and might growl when another dog approaches and she is snuggling with the human.  She responds to correction well when told "no" to the growling.
  • Renee will bark and whine for about 10 mins when left alone.  She needs either another dog or to not be left alone for very long periods of time.  She will get sad.
  • She does well with older children and large dogs.  She does have a strong prey drive and has attacked wild bunnies.
  • Renee is a pro in the car!

Red does like to chase cats-- so we don't recommend a home with kitties unless they are VERY dog-savvy cats.

Renee will be sent home with a GPS tracking collar in case she gets scared and runs away.  Pawfect Match will contractually require that Renee wear her tracking collar for a full year post-adoption.
