Meet Zena!
Here is what we can tell you about her history: she was left at the vet after she got into something that poisoned her and the family couldn't afford to pay for care. She has been bouncing around until now so she needs stability, structure, and ALOT of patience.

Here are the things we can tell you about her:

Zena is a sweet, loveable, and playful girl that is looking for someone to call her own. She loves to cuddle and be next to her human which causes her to be very clingy and get attached fast. She wants to be the only one in your life so for now we believe it would be best that she be the only dog in the home. She is dog friendly but becomes jealous when attention has to be shared so until this behavior can be corrected or changed she needs to  the only dog. Zena will chase cats so we are also recommending a home with no cats.

Zena is a foodie and loves to take treats and has no food aggression. We are able to take food, treats, or toys away at anytime with no problem. She loves to play with toys and will entertain herself. Zena loves to go on walks and ride in the car. She is open to try anything new and can be a little skittish but that doesn't stop her from trying the acitivity. She does love to sleep in the middle of her humans at night and is a snoring bed hog however she enjoys morning cuddles. Her activity level is moderate to low. She loves to play for a little while or go on a long walk and then take a nap. She loves being outside smelling everything she possibly can so a fenced yard would be great but she doesn't need/require one. She is also housebroken and crate trained.

Here is what we feel Zena will need in order to be successful:
Patient home with no other dogs or cats. She will need a family that is willing to work with her on a few issues. She needs basic training along with help on seperation anxiety. We are not sure if she has always had issues with being seperated from her people or if this is recent but we are working on a few things to help her. So a patient family is a MUST.

Open minded family that is willing to try as many things as neccessary to make her feel comforatable and safe. I believe Zena will strive and become even more confident in herself once she figures out that she has a furever home. Zena has been bounced around alot lately so I feel that stability & structure are key for her to heal. Zena wants to do the right thing but she doesn't always know what that is so she will need a family that is willing to show her new things, take her to places she has never been and show her the world isn't a bad thing.

Loving family that will show her if she does wrong that it's OK and then show her the correct way. She also needs them to show her humans may leave her for short periods of time but they will return. Zena doesn't come without issues but she needs to know that her world won't end when you leave and that its alright to be alone for a little while. She wants to give her human alot of affection but she needs/wants the same in return.

If you think Zena could be your match please fill out out an application or reach out to her foster family with questions.
