Hi everyone my name is Chewy! 

Let me introduce myself....
I am approx. 2.5 yrs young. I am a medium size, neutered boy, with a very beautiful shiny black and rust coat with rusty eyes. I am roughly 40lbs with a healthy appetite for any type of food. I am very food motivated and enjoy getting treats for learning new things such as sit, down, shake, and high five. My foster mom is working on stay but that one is taking a little longer because I get too excited when I see that treat getting farther and farther away......I love food but I will share it with the humans. I am not aggressive when they take my food and/or treats away but I will stand there with a sad face until I get it back.

I am housebroken and crate trained. I love any toy that I can toss up in the air, chew on, and chase. We have been playing fetch lately which I really enjoy but I am not the best at drop it. But my fosters are working on that as well.....I love going on walks and meeting new people and animals in the neighborhood. I am prey driven, so I will chase that little cotton tail in the trail so you may need to hold on tight for a minute.

I do have a bad thing that I need to tell you about......not my fault thou!
I am heartworm positive. The rescue will be covering all of the medical expenses..... I just need you to take me to my vet appointments (approx..3-4 appointments). Once I am cleared, I can be adopted and be 100% yours.

Here are a few things I need to be a great dog for you and your family:
I would love a fenced in yard. I don't currently have that and I am doing great but once I am 100% I would love to have a back yard to call my own. I am active so I would love to be able to chase my ball or toys or I do like to occasionally tuck my butt under and do a few zoomies (OMG they are so fun).....
I would do best with a family with older children. I like to nibble on things meaning I think my past family may have wrestled/played with me and I was allowed to chew on fingers while playing but now my foster mom won't allow it so she keeps directing me to my toys.  I just need to have older kids that can understand and tell me NO. It is never a mean or hard nibble just a playful one that needs redirection.

I get attached easy so I will need someone that is willing to spend time with me. I will follow you everywhere - bathroom/shower is no exception so just know I will be watching....:). I am not a cuddler but I want to be near you just not on top of you.

I am dog friendly but until I feel better it may be best if I am alone because I will want to play. Once I am better thou watch out. I will be up for anything. I would probably do best with another dog my size or larger and with the same activity level. I know when to be chill but I do like to get excerised and explore new things. I am not hyper but I will need action in my life I love trying new adventures because I haven't found anything that I won't at least try once.
