Apollo is a 19 month old neutered male (DOB: 8/23/18), approx. 50 pounds, microchipped and UTD on all vet care, shots and preventatives. He is housetrained, loves his crate to a fault, walks well on a leash, knows basic commands and loves scent work and disc, as well as anything involving food or toys. He is very sweet with his family, incredibly smart and very handsome. He picks up on new skills very quickly and is eager to please, highly treat motivated and will choose toys over food but can switch well. Apollo is good with “his kids” but is not a fan of strangers or visitors, so would probably not do well in a home with children. Apollo is good with other dogs when properly introduced and supervised. He has had neutral reactions to a dog savvy cat and chickens when at his trainer's home. He would do best in a home with breed experienced owners, without frequent unannounced visitors to his home, ideally someone specifically looking to adopt a sport dog. He does demonstrate some resource guarding, primarily of and in his crate, but occasionally with toys or bones as well. Wanting to be transparent, he does have a bite history, which was primarily due to mismanagement. He does not like other people in our home, which usually results in being crated during visits requires extensive management for overnight guests. At this point, we are not his best home and he would be happier in a home with the time and interest in continuing his scent work, disc work or agility.
