Update:  Sammi is so excited, she's getting her wires removed on Monday 7/17/17.  She'll be so happy to be able to chew and play a good tug of war!

Sammi Simone came into our rescue through a local animal shelter on Monday, June 12. She was thought to have a broken jaw. She is a petitie 4lb, 6 wwek old puppy.  She was seen by our vet who confirmed she had a broken jaw in 2, yes 2, places as well as 2 fractured ribs. Her x-rays also showed signs of previous trauma to her left side with healing broken ribs.  Her first week with us was a whirlwind of vet appointment and unfortunatley surgery to repair her jaw.  Through it all she is still a loving puppy, very scared but learning it's ok to be loved.

While we all would like to think that maybe she was accidentally injured, her injuries are not consistent with that.  While puppies her age are carefree and playful, Sammi can not play, she can not run and fetch a ball, she can not chew on a toy.  She can not eat regular food, her food must be pureed until her jaw is healed and eaten through a muzzle.  She loves being outside, but can't chew the grass.  She is such a small and sweet puppy that is missing out on all the puppy things that we all so enjoy.  She loves to be held and cuddled and will literally sink into your chest or neck.

Sammi will be ready to go to her furever home shortly. We are accepting application from that special family that will give Sammi the love she so deserves.
