PLEASE READ!  Thorny was part of the recent puppy mill bust in Cabarrus County.  He is a 4lb spit fire.  He is the little engine that never stops, ever.  He is a hoot, it's as simple as that.  Thorny is estimated to be around 3 years of age.  He is fun, full of vim and vigor and seems surprisingly unaffected by his prior living conditions.  Thorny is friendly and has no problem jumping in your lap.  He demands attention and will give you as many kisses as you'll let him.  He is the only boy in the mix and likes to strut his stuff at all times.  He is not afraid, even when he should be, he is not.

Thorny does well with other dogs.  He is very playful and enjoys a good wrestling match with his friends.  My thought is he would not do well paired with another dominant dog.  Thorny, like many Yorkies, does not realize how small he is.  Bravery over brains is his motto.

Thorny is NOT potty trained.  As his job was to sire as many litters as possible, potty training may be difficult.  He is a leg lifter.  Sorry, but that's a fact.  This may lessen some as he has recently been neutered, but it may not as well.  It will take patience and effort on the part of his new parents.  His life prior to now has been in a wire cage.  No pee pads or blankets, just a wire cage.  They all had to use the bathroom where they slept and ate and lived.  Period.  If you are an impatient person, please do not apply for any of the puppy mill dogs.  They need love and understanding and a willingness to show them what kindness is no matter the frustrations.  They have suffered enough in their short lives.  This is their second chance and they DESERVE the best, nothing less.

Finally, all of these dogs were rescued by HSUS.  The Humane Society will be notified of who their adoptive parents are and they may follow up with you.  There is always great interest when a puppy mill is busted and the public likes to know the fate of these dogs.  Please note that as an adopter, you may be asked to take part in interviews or a follow up feature article.
