When we decided to adopt, we researched different groups online and decided that Pawfect Match's combination of high-quality care, commitment to training, and after-adoption support were a "perfect match" for us. We looked online, fell in love with the puppy that we eventually adopted, and visited an adoption event. I expected to get a sales push or at least feel some pressure to make a decision on the spot, but we were delighted to find that the volunteers were more concerned about finding the perfect fit for the dogs than pushing for adoption. Instead of feeling like we were obligated to adopt, we felt like it was going to be an honor to be selected.
We filled out the forms, and after a few days, we had a home visit with our new puppy. The volunteers showed a lot of care when introducing Dallas to our cat, making sure that the cat would never face any danger from Dallas. They made it very clear that they would not put Dallas in a situation where he would have to be returned, and at that point, I knew that we were in the best possible hands for finding the perfect pet for us.
Dallas was a 5 month old puppy when he came to us, and he already knew how to sit, go to the bathroom outside, and he was crate trained. I know friends with dogs who are nearly a year and haven't been trained to that point. I can't imagine how stressful it would be if Pawfect Match hadn't done a lot of the "dirty work" for us. Plus, Dallas had been eating the highest quality food, seeing a renowned vet, and living a life of love and fun. He came to us ready to be the best dog he could be, and for that we're very thankful.
It's hard to imagine life without Dallas these days, and we look forward to watching him grow and experience new things. He's a blessing, and Pawfect Match made it happen, balancing our needs and his so that we'll be happy together for a long time." ============================================================= "We could not have

and a half. I moved back to NC, from New Jersey, in late 2005.
While in NJ,I was involved in fostering,volunteering with a national
breed rescue(cairn terriers) and participating in an innovative
program at a local animal shelter,bettering the chances for dogs to
be adopted. I got involved with Pawfect Match Rescue, as a foster, through a
pet foster newsletter, and have since proudly alligned myself with
this dedicated group.
The Founders, Board members and volunteers, all have full time
jobs, but never fail to come to the aid of any dog they can save,
from certain euthanasia, inhumane and/or unsanitary living
conditions or other circumstances dogs find themselves in; through
no fault of their own. Their only crime, being born.
Pawfect Match, a non-profit organization, takes these animals in to
foster homes, where they are loved, socialized and recieve vet
treatment. They are spayed or neutered, and microchipped, before
being adopted; thus preventing the cycle of unwanted animals,
filling animal shelters to overflowing, and continuing the practice
of euthanizing animals in overburdened shelters.
I find it very rewarding to play a small part in seeing
these "throwaways" become someone's best friend,and grow up to lead
a happy and rewarding life.
