The Dog that Started it All
In March of 2006, we rescued Pawfect Match's very first dog - Spot. Spot was a very special boy full of love and kisses who brought so much happiness to our rescue and his adopters. We were so saddened to learn of Spot's untimely death this week and our thoughts and prayers are with his loving family. We knowSpot is happy and waiting for us on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge and he will always have a very special place in our hearts. In honor of his life we would like to share some pictures with you of Spot - the dog that started it all!

Event Flyer for more details. Smooches for Pooches is our annual wine tasting and silent auction
fundraiser. Admission to the event is
$10 and includes the wine tasting, appetizers, and access to the silent
auctions. Items for bid this year include autographed Carolina
Hurricanes memorabilia, jewelry from Tiffany & Co., local handmade
pottery, gift baskets and more. We will also be hosting a raffle this
year. Tickets are $5 (or 5 for $20) and include three chances to win!
1st Prize is a one week getaway in Boone, NC. 2nd Prize is a weekend
getaway to Sandbar Bed and Breakfast in Nags Head, NC. 3rd Prize is a
concert package at the Chateau Morrisette Winery in Floyd, VA. Even if
you are unable to attend the event, please consider purchasing tickets

Bear Hugs Foundation Grant
Pawfect Match Rescue is pleased to announce that we have been selected to receive a grant from the Build-A-Bear Workshop Bear Hugs Foundation. We will be using the money from this grant to cover the spays, neuters, heartworm treatments, and other health needs of our current fosters.
The Build-A-Bear Workshop Bear Hugs Foundation is committed to making life more bearable for children, families and pets in need of a helping paw. With the sale of each full-sized Bearemy's Kennel Pals® friend -- a collection of Build-A-Bear Workshop® plush dogs -- one dollar is donated to domestic pet programs including local animal shelters, stray pet rescue and rehabiliation organizations, and pet education programs around the country.
