Toryn
Just wanted to shoot you guys an update and let you know that Toryn is doing great! He and Chloe are getting along really well (with the exception of when Chloe decides she no longer wants to share toys...she's made great strides already though, and even let him appropriate her deer antler last night). They love to play with each other, and she is super gentle with him. He has already started air-humping her--she doesn't quite know what to make of it. He's been great in the crate during the day--makes 3.5 hours fine without an accident, and is usually sound asleep when i get home to let him out. First few days he was awesome with house-training and made it to the pads or outside every time. Yesterday he had a couple accidents and briefly reverted to "it's ok to pee anywhere" but i think i've got that back under control. His stools are better--a firm one in the morning and evening, each followed by two "projectile poopys" (as I have come to call them). He's eating really well, but is quite thirsty all the time, though. He does really well at night (he sleeps in the bed with me and chloe), and i only need to get him up once to go out and pee in the middle of the night.
He is definitely a husky at heart--tries to escape outside whenever the door opens, is quite stubborn, and already figured out how to escape down the stairs from the deck b/c he's so tiny (this escape route has been plugged). Anyway, attached are some pics of him and Chloe playing together. Enjoy!
Aislin
I'm sitting here in my recliner with Aislin lying right under my arm and thought I would take a moment to tell you once again what a joy she is to our family. She has truly become a full-fledged member of our 4-legged bunch - the 2 bigger dogs have taken to her like she's always been here, and I even found her cuddled up asleep beside my Aussie just the other day. She barks when they bark, eats when they eat and goes in the yard when we have "potty breaks". She seems to be happiest when all of us are in the same room as she can keep track of everyone without going from room to room to see what's going on :-) When we are in the kitchen, she does the cutest little dance on her hind legs to try to get a bit of whatever it is we are cooking. She loves helping my daughter do her homeschool work every day (in the picture below) and has developed quite the napping routine.
Thank you all once again for everything you did to help us get Aislin - we can't imagine life without her now! :-)
Bless you all for what you do,
Michelle Disney
Fitch
Just thought I'd let you know what a GOOD boy Fitch is. He hasn't had one accident in the house yet. He's done his business outside since I picked him up. We stopped on the way home cuz I noticed he was wiggling around on Brad's lap and I put him on the leash, walked him a few seconds and there he went. He slept in his crate next to my bed all night long without a problem, put one of my t-shirts in there for him. He woke me up at 6am whimpering cuz he needed to go out. I took him outside and he went right away, came back in and let him lay in the bed with me and Sassy a while then put him back in the crate and he went right back to sleep. He's such a GOOD boy and I just love love love LOVE him!!
Toki
I am Toki's new mom and let me tell you something. I had a few days of doubts, had some issues with my cat and Toki's prey drive, but that has turned out to be my cat's problem, not Toki's. She started obedience classes this past Sunday, but when I got her she already had some basic training. She is a WONDERFUL dog, one of the smartest I have ever had, and I've had several dogs. She learns very quickly! She is great with my granddaughters, one of which has been intimidated by every dog she has ever met, even though she has always been around them (she is 6 ) and Toki has been great for her. She will even sit and down when Abby tells her to! They have become pals. Abby is not the least bit afraid of Toki. Toki however has learned that the cat rules the roost and has learned to leave her alone. In fact, the cat will try to get Toki's attention to pester her, but Toki can't be bothered. I have plans for her to get her CGC training and becomne a therapy dog. If anyone can, Toki can. Now if I can just remember what it is I am supposed to do we'll be fine. Thank you for saving her, and for giving us the opportunity to love her. She is loved by all of us and it seems like she's been a part of our family forever. I will send some pictures later, and would love to bring her to an event so those that knew her can see her.
Thanks again for this new joy in our lives,
Sara and David Markle
Rona
Kona is doing terrific! She has not had any health problems and seems happier than ever! I think Florian and I love her more every day- she truly brings so much joy to our lives. Florian has been biking with her every day lately and I take her on long walks or to the dog park to play with her friends.
