Riley is a very pretty 2 year old girl with the beautiful merle coat of a Catahoula Leopard Dog. While she is not 100% Catahoula, she possesses some of the qualities of this breed - intelligent, loving, and energetic. Riley was rescued by PMR&R in January of 2013 as a 6 week old pup and was adopted out a month later to a military man. Unfortunately he was deployed twice in the past year and had to return her to us last December when he couldn’t find anyone to watch her the second time he left. He loved Riley, took great care of her, and even attended training with her.

Riley is so smart, food motivated, and eager to please that she is a natural for any type of training. She would make an excellent agility or obedience dog and already knows her basic commands such as “sit” and “down.” She is an impressive jumper and would make a great Frisbee dog too! Riley is a great size at 35 pounds and is a fabulous companion dog. She enjoys hanging out on the couch with her people, is a great cuddler, and loves all people and kids. She really enjoys car rides, is crate-trained and housebroken.

Because Riley is young and energetic, she would do best with an owner who is active and experienced with dogs and in a household without small children. She would also benefit from having a fenced yard to play in. Riley is discriminating about other dogs and so would be best as an only dog or with a male or dominant female dog buddy. She is a great match for someone who is active and is looking for a loving companion but doesn’t want to go through all the challenges associated with a puppy. This girl has had a lot of upheaval in her short life and would sure like to find a permanent home to settle in to. Wouldn’t you like to be the one to give her that home? Please come meet her and see why we love her!
