What a difference two weeks makes!!  Piper is one of the 105 dogs saved from the recent puppy mill bust.  She is estimated to be around 5 years of age.  Piper is very loving and really wants to be a lap dog.  That's pretty huge seeing that she's lived her life in a cage without the benefit of human touch.  She loves to lean into you and curl her head under your neck.  The more you pet her, the happier she is.  Piper is excited to see you always and she is an excellent partner to nap or watch a movie with.  Typical of a poodle, all she wants is love and affection.

Piper will do best in home without young children.  Noises are still new to her and too much commotion may be overwhelming.  She is good with other dogs, a more mature dog would be best, and fine with cats.  Piper is a playful girl and has recently discovered the joys of toys.

Piper is not potty trained.  That will take patience and effort on the part of her new parents.  Her life prior to now has been in a wire cage.  No pee pads or blankets, just a wire cage.  They all had to use the bathroom where they slept and ate and lived.  Period.  If you are an impatient person, please do not apply for any of the puppy mill dogs.  They need love and understanding and a willingness to show them what kindness is, no matter the frustrations.  Poodles are smart though and Piper is not exception to that rule.

Finally, all of these dogs were rescued by HSUS.  The Humane Society will be notified of who their adoptive parents are and they may follow up with you.  There is always great interest when a puppy mill is busted and the public likes to know the fate of these dogs.  Please note that as an adopter, you may be asked to take part in interviews or a follow up feature article.
